Inspiration

I found some more lovely wedding ideas.
First, I found another site that has the cutest cake toppers by Nine Cakes!

You can find Nine Cake's website here.

I also found a wedding blog on 100 Layer Cake about a lovely couple named Kevin and Jenny.
They had a country farm themed wedding and had some really great ideas.
I love these ideas the most:

Felt kite boutineers.

And the wheat stalk bouquets were such an original idea.

You can find 100 Layer Cake's blog here.
Have a happy Wednesday!

Good news!

Austin got a new job! Yay! He will be working at this screen printing shop. He and his cousin, Micah, have been screen printing in a garage for quite a while and Austin loves it - oh and he's really good at it. So, now he gets to do something he loves and get paid! He'll also have better hours and won't have to work weekends anymore. We're really excited :)

Also, I found this lovely project for the wedding. These should work perfectly for centerpieces and I'm also going to use some little baby food jars and put tea candles inside intead of flowers.

It should be really pretty.

I'm also going to make these for the tables

Inspired by Veronika from tick tock vintage. Picture is from this post.

I'm also thinking about ordering some of this bunting to put on top of our cake like so:

And I also really enjoy this

That's all for now :)

Clumsy

I am unbelievably clumsy. I make a fool of myself all the time. When I was in high school I was the only senior who still tripped on the stairs. My most recent embarrassment was spilling some coffee on my laptop keyboard. Unfortunately, my keyboard is now ruined and has to be replaced. So for now my posts will have to be made from my cell phone.
I don't have anything too interesting to share tonight. But I thought I'd post this ridiculous picture of Austin and our friend Jeremi at the bowling alley the other night.

The Dress

There's a bit of a funny story behind my wedding dress. Austin made one request before I went shopping: that I buy one that "isn't huge" meaning one without any tulle. And the only requirements I had were that I generally refuse to wear strapless dresses and I hate large bows and rhinestones. After some shopping, it turned out that the only dress I loved was strapless, had more tulle than I've ever seen in my life, and a huge bow with a rhinestone brooch. Haha!
But, the dress has a beautiful sweetheart neckline and looks lovely on me. I decided that with just a few adjustments, it would be perfect. So, I bought it :)
Shortly after I brought it home, I took the bow off (it was just tacked on) and called a seamstress. When we met yesterday, she had just finished taking all the tulle out and now all that left is to shorten the hem! It shouldn't be long before its finished. I'm so excited.
I can't post any pictures of the dress before the wedding because I don't want Austin to stumble upon them. But, my seamstress gave me a mountain of tulle to take home so I took at quick shot.

I'm so relieved to try on the dress without all that garbage inside. It makes me so excited! Only 78 days :D

Date Night

The other day our dinner plans were canceled so Austin and I were able to finally have some time to ourselves. We decided it was definitely time for a date night - our schedules don't allow us much time together. So, after a quick nap we headed out.

The first stop was an old barn near Austin's house. The weather was gorgeous, so we took a little walk and spent some time investigating. Unfortunately, I didn't stop to take any pictures :( Our dream is to renovate and live in an old barn so it was fun to look around and dream.

Afterward, we headed over to a little antique shop I drive by on my way to school. And we found some fantastic things for the kitchen.

Then, we stopped by Guitar Center to pick up some fancy mics and cables that Austin needed. And finally we went out to dinner at the restaurant where Austin works, Gaucho's Brazilian Steakhouse. I had never been there, so it was fun.

Nights like these remind me why I fell in love with Austin. We get along so easily and being around him just puts me at ease. I cannot wait to marry him (79 days!). It was a much needed night out.

Wedding Things

This week is my spring break, so I've been trying to work on some wedding plans. Buuut I've been having some trouble. Originally I was going to use purple decorations and was thinking about using peacock feathers in my bouquet and Austin's boutineer, but after some research I mostly hate that idea. Every bouquet I've seen has been awful. Just haven't been able to find or think of any good ideas so I'm giving up.

But I'm really excited about my new plans! I found the perfect invitations. I think I'm going to use mostly shades of brown and tan for my wedding colors. I also found this adorable bouquet.

I think I've finally found my inspiration.
I'm planning some excurtions to a few fabric stores and antique stores before my break is over.
I can't wait!

In other news Austin's roomate, Shane, has officially moved out. Its really sad, Shane is great and we're going to miss him tons. But now we get to start settling into our house. Woo!

Aaand other, other news, my aunts have started planning my bridal shower! That means I get to start registering for lots of lovely kitchen things :)
